Multifamily Underwriting Analyst
Position Overview The Multifamily Underwriting Analyst (Capital Markets Underwriting Analyst) will focus on information quality and credit assessment of loans originated for Freddie Mac’s K-deal securitization platform. The hired candidate will evaluate loans for credit risk through the review of I&E/cash flow and rent roll analysis, third party reports, loan structure, borrower credit worthiness, market analysis, asset quality and final loan documents. Loan production is nationwide and spans multiple multifamily sub-types including student, co-op, seniors and affordable housing loans. Responsibilities Include: Participate in the credit and underwriting analysis process and create Asset Summary Reports. Support K-deal due diligence process; assist with addressing securitization counterparty questions. Provide support function for Sharepoint list database* Create and maintain credit reporting documents and trend analysis databases to be reported to Senior Management and across the Multifamily Division. Collaborate with other departments to validate and update pertinent loan information and data as part of securitization process. Provide research support for the team and undertake additional side-projects as they arise. Qualifications Typically has up to two years of experience, demonstrated interest or experience in multifamily or commercial real estate Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting or related field. Strong analytical and critical thinking ability Ability to work efficiently under tight timelines and prioritize between multiple assignments. Proficient in Microsoft Suite (excel, word, powerpoint) Preferred Skills Prior experience with CMBS, GSE Multifamily Lending, Rating Agencies or Asset Management Experience with Microsoft SharePoint 2007/2010 Financial modeling skills in Excel, familiarity with Microsoft Access Excellent written and verbal communication skills Closing Statement Today, Freddie Mac makes home possible for one in four home borrowers and is one of the largest sources of financing for multifamily housing.
